Celebrating

125 Anniversary

For the Love of Christ Compels Us

In 1893, three young men, Walter Gowans, Roland Bingham and Thomas Kent, had a vision to evangelise the 60 million unreached people in sub-Saharan Africa. Two of them died within months of reaching the continent. Upon learning of the death of her 26-year-old son, Mrs Gowans said to the surviving member, ‘‘Well, Mr. Bingham, I would rather have had Walter go out to the

Soudan and die there, all alone, than have him home today, disobeying his Lord.’

Mrs Gowans continued to be faithful in prayer, trusting God for victory.

SIM worldwide celebrates her 125th anniversary this year. In Singapore, SIM EA will be marking this special occasion through a dinner celebration on 12th Nov. Do look out for our announcements

on the venue and time. Pray with us to continue to be faithful and trust God for victory, just as Mrs Walter Gowans did 125 years ago.
