What
Can I Do

Evangelism and Church Planting
SIM needs people with a passion for evangelism. SIM is committed to developing relationships and sharing the gospel. We plant churches where there are none and partner with existing churches.

We need people with a heart for the unreached, who desire to help others grow in their faith. New believers need to deepen their faith in community with other believers. That is why we plant churches and why discipleship is a priority. All ministries in SIM contribute to evangelism and church planting.

Children and Youth
SIM is concerned for children and young people in the context of families, churches and communities.

Young people are often the most spiritually receptive in the community. Working with them, through homework clubs, feeding programmes, outreach to needy children, sports ministry, literacy and many more projects can build a strong foundation for a church-planting and discipling ministry.

Education
There are opportunities to work with children and adults in: technical, professional and theological education.

Teaching English as a Second Language or Chinese is one way to impact lives for God as you share your story with your students and impart values to them.

SIM teachers also provide vital education for missionary and expatriate children, as well as children from the local community in many parts of the world where education is at a premium.

Development and Relief
Do you feel challenged to do something when you think about poverty, exploitation, social justice issues and natural disasters in the world? Working with SIM in community development could be the way God is calling you to respond.

For SIM, the ultimate evidence of development is seeing people reconciled to God. For Christians living in a broken world, development also means meeting the physical needs and alleviating the sufferings of disadvantaged people in the name of Christ.

Media and Arts
SIM is looking for innovative and gifted artists who are passionate about communicating the message of Jesus’ love and forgiveness to people around the globe through diverse media.

If you have training in radio, design, web development, journalism, photography, art, music or drama, you can make an impact by telling the stories of God’s work around the world and inspiring others to do the same in their cultural contexts.

Theological Education
Theological education is not only for seminary students or pastors. It equips lay leaders, health workers and anyone who desires to further their knowledge of Christ.

If you have a passion to train local believers and develop contextualised Christian scholarship, then we can place you in a Bible school, seminary or theological education by extension programme.

Health
If you have medical training, your skills may be the way you can show the compassion and love of Christ in a practical way. Doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals work in front-line care, primary healthcare and preventive education. All are committed to passing on their skills to local colleagues.

Under the umbrella of ‘HOPE for AIDS’, SIM is responding with love and compassion to the HIV and AIDS pandemic, providing care as well as education.

Management, Administration and Leadership
Your business or professional skills could be the way God takes you to a country where people are open to faith and keen to learn more about the Bible.

There is a growing awareness that God can and does use these skills and experiences on the mission field. SIM also needs people to help lead and run the mission. Personnel managers, accountants, IT professionals, administrators and field leaders give direction and support to the organisation.
